Record penalty against businessman who refused to clean up his act

December 5, 2016 By James L Leave a Comment

Thanks to the efforts of Fair Work Ombudsman, the Federal Circuit Court has slapped a $126,540 fine on Bijal Girish Sheth, a rogue businessman in Australia’s Brisbane. He has also been ordered to make a payment of back pay of nearly $60,000 to migrant workers. The five affected workers are all from non-English speaking backgrounds.
