Ambush marketing is a widely used tactic. This tactic can back fire, similar to the way it did for a man who wildly over bid on property than ended up losing its value. Ambush marketing doe not always work and it’s the marketers fault.They may not know their audience.What their target audience likes, what their core ideologies are. The message may easily misread, portrayed in a way that was unclear. It may even be inappropriate or bordering the line of inappropriate. Any of these may get people talking, but not talking about the marketers message in a good light.
