You submit payroll and superannuation data to the ATO each “PayEvent,” from within your payroll software. A PayEvent is each time you pay someone and generate a pay slip. Some of the data on the pay slip will be sent directly and electronically to the ATO. The year-to-date totals of gross wages and Pay As You Go Withholding tax, (PAYGW), for each employee being paid.
