New research on reduced-risk cigarettes

A website for the convenience store industry reports that a study funded by a major tobacco company has published a finding that the use of a lowered risk version of cigarettes can bring down exposure to fifteen harmful chemicals. The experiment was conducted on 160 smokers over three months. The head of an organization dedicated to stopping smoking questioned the findings and said they had been confirmed by other studies. She also said the report does not address the issue of whether this product lowered the risk of cancer.
