The Small Business and Family Enterprise is advocating increased access to funding for small businesses from governmental backed sources. In the wake of the global economic crisis, many banks shifted their focus to businesses that pose less of a risk. This naturally excludes many smaller enterprises that have not yet had a chance to prove their worth. And without funding, many will fold regardless of how profitable their operations or ideas may be. The SBFE argues few lenders are striving to meet the needs of the small business sector.
