Social media is increasingly becoming commercial. Where there are people, there are potential customers; and businesses look for ways to be where customers are. The problem with engaging on social media is it can backfire. Most companies don’t develop a solid strategy for social media, and it leaves them floundering as they try to connect. The lack of solid control over how customers respond to their posts and tweets catches more than a few corporate owners off guard as well.
