Now that social media platforms have reached maturity, it’s time to rethink how your company is using social media to engage with the public. Not all social media platforms are created equal. If your objective is to use social media to drive visits to your website or for branding, then you should identify whether Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest is the most effective way to accomplish this. This will allow you to see where each hour of your time can be used most efficiently on social media and where each dollar of advertising money can be spent most effectively. Ultimately you may find that your time and resources may be better spent by forgoing social media and investing your finite advertising budget in Google Adwords or SEO.
