5 ways to spot the weakest link in your workforce – DynamicBusiness

It can be quite easy to identify if an employee or co worker is causing your work team to become weak and unproductive. Any employees or co workers who show signs of excessive absence from work or meetings can be making your entire team suffer. If the individual also is hard to get ahold of to communicate information on a project, or shows little to no interest in the task at hand, then before removing them completely, they should be sat down and asked what can change to increase the quality of their performance to better benefit the entire team and company they are working for.

Key Takeaways:

  • Your place of employment is only as strong as its weakest employee; it is important to be able to spot employee weaknesses and determine if these are workable before termination.
  • Ways to spot the weakest employee include lack of availability, excessive tardiness, lack of interest, complaining, and poor participation.
  • It is important to assess if the identified weak individual is able to offer something to your company or organization before termination.

“When it comes to operational success, it’s important to keep in mind that your entire workforce is only as strong as your weakest link. This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to eliminate the weakest link, rather you should pinpoint the toxic employees and see if he or she is willing to improve. If there is no desire by the person to improve, then replacing the employee might need to be considered.”
